CREATOR TERMS AND CONDITIONS
3.1 Purpose
African Story MovieBox provides eligible creators with an opportunity to publish audiovisual content and participate in a revenue-sharing programme.
This policy governs the relationship between African Story MovieBox and creators who upload content to the platform.
3.2 Who Can Become a Creator?
Eligible creators may include:
Upcoming filmmakers.
Independent movie producers.
Animation creators.
Scriptwriters who own or control the relevant audiovisual rights.
Content production companies.
Film studios.
Documentary producers.
Other authorized audiovisual content owners.
Creators must satisfy the platform’s registration, content approval, and monetization requirements.
Registration alone does not guarantee monetization.
3.3 Ownership of Content
Creators retain ownership of their original productions.
African Story MovieBox does not automatically acquire ownership of uploaded content.
Creators are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions relating to:
Actors and performers.
Music and sound recordings.
Scripts and screenplays.
Photographs and artwork.
Animation assets.
Trademarks and identifiable third-party materials.
Distribution rights and other third-party intellectual property.
A creator must not upload a film merely because they possess a copy of it.
They must have the legal rights necessary to distribute and monetize it.
3.4 License Granted to African Story MovieBox
By uploading content, you grant African Story MovieBox a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-bearing or royalty-free license as appropriate to the agreed monetization model, for the duration your content remains authorized on the platform, to:
Host and store your content.
Encode and transcode videos into supported formats.
Stream and display your content.
Create thumbnails and previews.
Display your title, artwork, and creator profile.
Promote your content through the platform’s website and official promotional channels.
Include your content in search results, recommendations, and category listings.
Measure playback and calculate eligible creator revenue.
Perform other technical activities reasonably necessary to operate the service.
The license is limited to operating, promoting, and monetizing the content through the agreed platform services.
It does not authorize African Story MovieBox to sell ownership of your production or grant unrelated third parties unrestricted exploitation rights.
Any broader licensing, television distribution, theatrical exhibition, or third-party sublicensing arrangement must be separately authorized where required.
3.5 Content Review
African Story MovieBox may review uploaded content for:
Copyright compliance.
Technical quality.
Compliance with applicable law.
Platform suitability.
Monetization eligibility.
Accuracy of ownership information.
We may reject, restrict, demonetize, or remove content that violates our policies or presents a substantiated legal risk.
3.6 Creator Revenue
Eligible creators participate in the platform’s standard 50/50 revenue-sharing arrangement.
The platform allocates 50% of the applicable eligible revenue to the creator pool and retains 50% as its platform share.
Where several creators participate in the same revenue pool, the creator portion is distributed according to qualified viewing activity and the applicable revenue calculation rules.
The revenue generated by one video is not necessarily paid entirely to that video’s uploader.
3.7 No Guaranteed Earnings
African Story MovieBox does not guarantee:
A minimum number of views.
A particular audience size.
A minimum monthly income.
Viral distribution.
Acceptance into the monetization programme.
A specific payment amount.
Earnings depend on eligible revenue, qualified viewing activity, content eligibility, and other applicable programme conditions.
3.8 Artificial Engagement
Creators must not manipulate viewing statistics.
Prohibited conduct includes:
Buying artificial views.
Using automated playback systems.
Operating bots.
Repeatedly watching one’s own uploads to increase earnings.
Encouraging coordinated fraudulent viewing.
Using misleading methods to generate monetized engagement.
African Story MovieBox may exclude invalid views from earnings calculations.
3.9 Removal of Content
Creators may request removal of their uploaded content, subject to verification and applicable contractual obligations.
Removing content does not automatically erase legitimate financial obligations arising before removal.
Where a creator has entered into a separate exclusive access or distribution agreement, the terms of that agreement may affect removal rights.
3.10 Termination
African Story MovieBox may suspend or terminate a creator’s monetization privileges for fraud, copyright infringement, serious policy violations, or other lawful reasons.
Creators may appeal decisions through the platform’s designated support process.
